I was out piddling in the garage this morning, and decided to air up the old tires, and refurbish the old original wheels and hub caps. Well, it takes quite a while, but here is one tht is finished and ready to go on the car for car shows.
ORIGINAL: Soaring

Any chance the tires pictured are originals. Dropped by the MCA National show here in Vegas Saturday to view the cars, and saw a concurs 65 red coupe with a 200 CID I6 that the info with the car stated it only had 7 thousand 100 miles on it and the tires being shown were the originals. Very nice looking car

No, the tires are not the original tires that came on the car from the factory. These are radials. I guess I could get some new bias ply nylon tires still. Believe it or not, I am not that concours minded because I drive this car, and the old bias ply tires are crap.
ya they are but i watched something on TV bout tires and bias ply are better than radial in aspect and i forgot what it was
I have driven many cars in the past with bias ply tires because that was all we had back then. Is it any wonder that the radials rapidly took over the industry shortly after they were invented? Yeah, I know the first radials to come out had some separation problems, but that was quickly resolved. I have never had a flat on a radial, whereas I used to have flats on bias ply tires all the time. Traction, steering and overall control was improved immensely with the invention of radial tires.
