doing more then one things sucks huh, once you get one done, you let out a sigh of relife and say to your self, " done ". then you look over your solder see 3 more sitting there calling your name.....

You think those will help in a show? I have been debating that for when I go to shows. IMO they just dont look very good. Is concorse>Looks at most shows?

I go to quite a few shows and do pretty good but if a swap could do me some good I might do that.

 

It depends on which show you take it to, and in what class you enter it. At the MOCA show in Austin this past August it didn't matter which wheels you have on it because the judging is for looks only, and amateurs do the judging....usually from the younger generation who don't know jack about real classics. I got beat out by a 65 restomod that had a modified 302 and just about every other mod you could put on a 65. If the show has classes broken down into concours trailer, concours driven from home, and concours daily drivers, then your chances of scoring are better with the original wheels and hubcaps. Same goes with Autolite battery and yellow top coil. It just depends on what the rules and classes are at each show. The reason I restored my original wheels and hubcaps is twofold. It needed to be done to preserve them, and just in case I find a show that has the right classes listed for concours judging in the driven class. Otherwise, those old wheels and tires are useless.

 

The shows I go to have factory modified and factory original, but I really dont know if the judges know what exactly was original.

Bias ply tires do suck. They are great on trailers when you need to haul weight. They make too much noise and follow every rut in the road.

 

Wheels look good soaring but i ujust never have liked that style im more of a new generation type.But they look good none the less nice job.
