Kill Switch and Hood Locking?
Anyone have recommendations on a kill switch (brand, mainly/type) and a way to secure or lock the hood? My ocassional driving to work and leaving my '67 in the parking garage all day has me concerned...these two things seems like they might offer a little piece of mind. Thanks to any and all for their .02

I've seen hood pin kits that are locks instead of pins sticking through the hood. They go flush with top of hood and have the circular key to lock them down.
Don't think there are many different of those round keys, but it will keep the average person out from under the hood.

without really checking it out it is difficult to guess, but i would think it would be entirely possible to drill some holes in your hood latch mechanism and push a lock through it. Kill switches are pretty simple, just need to wire a switch to your ignition and hide it.
Of course you could go really hi tech and Robo Cop security your car. You remember the scene where someone tries to break into the car and the seatbelts latch onto him and electrocute him.
I dont know if you saw the original "Gone in 60 Seconds", but there is a scene in it where they steal a vintage mustang. So EASY. I can see why you'd be concerned

Could you get a chain and chain it down? I have seen where the front clip was change to a one piece front end that filpped up backwards with bumper, hood and fenders that came with a locking kit. That may be a bit much. I was thinking about doing it myself but I woke up. Mustangs are so easy to steal. That don't make you feel better. I don't drive mine anywhere I can't watch it. I don't drive mine far from the house just in case it breaks down.
There used to be a company named Chapman that specialized in hood locks with ignition cut outs. I don't know if they are still around. There is a company named Wolo that still makes one. It locks the hood and disables the ignition. It's remotely operated from inside the car via a tubular key. http://www.wolo-mfg.com/sec.htm
