Default Advice

I'm looking for a Fastback 67-68 and found this at ebay. I would like some advice, since this is my first restoration project and would like to start with a solid body
Does this ebay car looks like a good deal?

Any comments would be much appreciated

Just a FYI
It's not the original engine.
For 15K I would look it over good.
Take a good look at the quarter panels. The pictures are from a distance a way.
They may need replacement. Engine looks like its been sitting, may need a rebuild.
It can get very expensive fast. I no S code fastbacks are going for big bucks, but look it over good.

This guy is a crook who misrepresents the cars he sells on ebay. I wouldn't buy anything from this dishonest seller.
His positive feedback is generated by thousands of record sales but when it comes to Mustang sales beware!! Check out this link about a car he sold to a fellow classic mustang enthusiast who was foolish enough to buy a car from him off ebay without first inspecting it in person. [sm=badidea.gif]

those pics of the under-carraige looks like black spray paint to me...and the fact hes pushin RAT_ROD is silly. Sounds shady, and since someone noticed that its not the orig. engine you should walk away 15k is too much.

Way too much and besides the black paint sprayed underneath the car would alert me. Why waste time painting the undercarriage and not the body too

Yeah - WAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY too much for an ebay car of this condition. Sure, maybe it's an S-code, but it's not the original engine, so who really cares. And sure, maybe it's a 428 (maybe...), but you can get one in better condition. This is a total project car, and $15k is way to high. Ditto the comments above about the undercarriage paint, the rust, and the shady seller.

Regarding Ebay - it's a risk, but it's not all that bad. That's where I got the 67. Ever-so slightly misrepresented by seller, but not all that bad. After fixing a few things, she's now golden!
