Default is this right???

i read that you time the car with the vacuum line unpluged from the distributor and plug the line but my car wont run like that i have a edlebrock 4bbl and i have the vacuum line going from the full vacuum to a 3way going to the trans and distributor and a hose going from pcv valve port on the carb to a breather on my valve cover is this set up right or did i screw up somewere

that sounds way messed up....

PCV valve port on the carb should go to the PCV port on the intake manifold
Distributor vacuum line should go to the non-EGR port on the front of the edelbrock carb (there are two right in front... i think the non-EGR one is the right one).


somethin like that I think, I've worked over 40 hours in 3 days, I'm tired

Heres the deal. The distributer cant run off of that vacuum. thats too much at idle. So what's happening is, the car is advanced with that vacuum at idle. So when you take it off, it retards, and the car stalls. Remove the line, and then advance the dizzy, and then try and start. Keep advancing til it starts. Then adjust timing from there.

The dizzy advance requires ported vacuum. You'll have 1 vacuum port on the Edelbrock that will not have a vacuum when the throttle is closed, but gains vacuum when the blades move a little.
