1966 ignition switch trouble
What Soaring said removes the key insert which is the most common part of ignition switch replacement, but, if your problem is the switch itself, then continue by removing the nut on the backside which holds aux wiring in place then remove the wire harness. finally, the switch itself is held in place by a thin metal cup and spring mechanism wich needs to be pushed in and rotated to pop it off. It's tough fitting your hand in behind the dash, but keep at it and it will pop loose. Putting it back (replacement) is just the opposite, but, also sometimes tricky just because of the tight space.
