New project, check it out
My '66 coupe with a TW headed 306 started knocking down low......the death rattle...(turned out to be a grenaded TRW flattop.....damned Ebay)....so heres the new project:
1978 302 block
347 kit, 4340 crank, H beam 4340 rods
10.5:1 CR forged Probe flattops
Keeping the Track Heat upgraded TW heads
Trick Flow Stage 3 hyd roller cam
Comp Cams Retrofit Link Bar lifters
Torker 2 intake
Speed Demon 650
1 5/8" long tubes with 3" dual pipes, capped with 40 series flow's, after the cutouts
Full MSD setup.....ProBillet, 6AL box, Blaster E coil
High pressure oil pump (Makes 80psi at idle when cold)
Main/head studs
Main girdle
Crane Energizer rockers
13 lb. aluminum flywheel and king cobra clutch
Billet SFI balancer
Tremec 3550 and a Auburn Posi 4.11 8" in the back
M/T 28x10.5 DOT cheaters
And finally......debating which pills to use in the Super Powershot plate system......
Anyhoo, anyone got any magic calculator in their pocket that'll give me any idea on hp numbers? Ive got the Desktop dyno thing, but Ill bet you can guess how much stock I put in that bit of wizardry. Its telling me a little north of 500hp at 6500, but i feel thats a little optimistic. The coupes got subframe connectors and a 6 point cage, so im not worried about taco'ing the chassis on launch. Im just offering up my growing pile of parts boxes on the altar of the car gods, looking for a divine prediction or two. Any and all opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all.

assuming you mean this cam:
I would say 450 horse isnt too hard to believe, on motor alone.
Rough idle, strong top-end power. 3,000-3,500 rpm stall converter, 3.90 to 4.11 gears recommended.
Compression: 10:1 minimum
dur@.050 - 236°/248° lobe lift- .359/.372 valve lift w1.6 rocker- .574/.595 lobe sep- 110°

The trick flow stage 3 is a hyd roller with 298/310 adv. duration and .574/.595 lift. You can see the drastic difference between it and the hyd flat tappet torker 2 edel. cam i was running, just by looking at the lobes with your naked eye.
Its a plate NOS system, with one of those progressive flow controllers to soften the hit. So, i figure i could pump it up a little more than if it was just a straight shot. Any guesses on how much my setup will take before becoming a yard sale of shrapnel on the strip?
