ok, im starting to put everything back on my engine tomarrow. im going to get a new alternator, new plugs, some gaskets for my carb, carb spacer, vavle covers. i assume i need some kinda adhesive, what do you guys recommend? anything else im not thinking of?
I use Blue RTV for my valve cover gaskets (valve cover side only). A little anti-sieze on the plugs is a good thing, too, along with dielectric grease for the boots. Nothing else you mentioned needs any special treatment.

Thought your intake was already on. But, I use the black hi-temp stuff on the ends and the blue around the water ports that you don't have.

2 questions
1. my dad showed me how to use our toque wrenches, but he didnt tell me how to tell what torque rating bolts have, how do you find that out?
and 2.how tight do you get the rockers on?
Your new intake should have a new torque spec and sequence. You definitely don't want to use the factory specs on an aftermarket manifold. I generally start at about 1/2 torque for the intake and go around twice in the sequence. Then, I'll go to full spec and go around until the bolts will not move anymore at the spec'd torque.
I believe the rockers are 20lb-ft, but you should look that up for sure in a manual.

Well, here are the factory specs, but like Colorado said, don't use these with aftermarket stuff. Aluminum is a whole 'nother animal.
