Why not build a clevor, a windsor block with cleveland heads. Check out these numbers.

yeah, Jarrettdad, use a windsor block, because cleveland blocks dont oil too good. Just build you a windsor with big aftermarket heads. It'll be better then a cleveland.

good i might end up with the cleve in there afterall? i trying to find some 4v open chamber heads know anyone who has a set? my pistons are domed 10.2:a with the open chambers and 13.6:1 with the closed

+1 I agree completely. I've got a Windsor based 408; I think aftermarket stuff for them are more prevalent and available.

Yeah, this is the weekly argument about which is better, the Clevo or the Windsor. Nothing ever gets resolved, as they are both great engines for the classic Mustangs. I prefer my little 289 for the 65-66 models. You I-6 guys just drool.

Rmodel,

I think I will have a set of 4v open chambers after friday. I just bought a block, crank, heads, manifolds, oil pan an VCs off ebay, picking them up on Friday. I want to stay with the 2v heads that I have partially built. Email or PM me if interested.
