Default Welders?

I posted this on several forms. Need advise.

I need to replace some sheet metal. I am debating on whether to buy or rent a welder. Has anyone here used one of the wire welders that uses flux wire intead of gas? Lowes and even Walmart sell a small Lincoln model for about $250.00. Anyone that has experience with them how about some feedback. Thanks in advance.

Not me, the weld does not look that good and not good for bodywork. Get the Mig with gas. you might want to post ithis on off topic

Definately buy one. You can get a gas kit for the flux core welders, and definately do this. For body work use .023 wire. I bought a little Century welder then inherited a Miller with gas. I use the flux core for exhaust and heavier work and the gas for precision work. Once you have one you'll use the hell out of it. I race lawn tractors and would be lost without one

Thanks, so far in the disassembly I have only found bad spots under the battery try and the drivers side firewall behind the fender gasket needs a patch. The rear quarters are great and the floor boards look useable. I'll know more after I finnish stripping the interior and do some sand blasting. I will replace the left front fender.
