geeeet soooooome, no seriously dude, you will have major exhaust fumes in the car at idle and the vacuum effect going down the road will suck in through any air holes/bad weatherstripping etc.

I dunno guys... If your going for a classy ride then tail pipes are great, but exhaust dumps just sound wicked!

most of my cars have either turn downs or just end at the muffler by the rear axle. most conversations are donw at a raised volume level and are filled with "WHAT?" and "HUH?" a few "Can you say again?" it puts resonance into the car and that is not a consideration in a drag car, but sucks on the street.

If I daily drive it or take the kids for a ride in it, it has tail pipes. No tail pipes and the kids fall asleep in about two minutes.. not entirely bad, but cant be good for them.
What are you talking about.? You don't even have an engine in your stang,
Glen I have a number of vehicles with engines in them, quite a few actually run and drive too! lol

yes i have turn downs and let me tell you...IT SUCKS!!!!!!...ive been wanting to change, but ive done other things instead...there not great to have because you come out of your car smelling like gas fumes, and oil...and when going into class and sitting next to pretty good looking girl, its not the best thing in the world...besides the fact that you cant listen to the radio unless you have your speakers at full volume, you cant even hear your friends that are in the car with you...just get tail pipes dude trust me...

Go all the way out the back, you'll save youself the headache and i.m.o. the performance is slightly better depending on your engine build.

If you're like me and not a fan of chrome tips poking out the back (or if you just can't decide on which tips to choose), just tuck the tailpipes behind the rear valance like I did. It looks awesome during a cool day, the pops of exhaust heat come puffing out from the tips hidden behind the valance.

I run turn downs on my '71. That's purely for the added horsepower. I don't have any fume problems, either. Of course, this is a toy and not a DD (gets kinda cold in the winter without a heater).

Comfy DD's get exhaust out to the valance.
