Default Drip Rails

I have owned a 65 coupe for about ten years now. It has been sitting in my backyard for most of that time. I am now starting to tinker with it and have noticed that the drip rails are in pretty bad shape. They are rusted through in a few areas and even into the roof in others.
I have average body wotk skills, but I don't even now where to begin to repair drip rails.
Anyone have any advice? Can it even be done?

Take them completely off, in my opinion. Looks better, and would be much much easier. You probably wouldn't wanna drive in the rain though.

the drip rails are what welds the inner and outer roof together u can shave them for acustom look but u have to weld the seam like said above would be very good in the rain not a problem though unless u open the door(water will pour stright in the car with it open)

We've had a few guys shave them off, and fill in the seam, then paint it. They look really good if you are going the restomod route.

I was thinking about shaving, but I think thats beyond my abilities. I guess I'll have to farm it out.
Thanks

I jsut shaved the rails on my 65 very easy to with a cut off wheel and some patience. My dril rails were very rotted behind the a pillars. I mean shot. I will replace these with some decent metal. I have average skill too and a mig weldwer. Glad to hear I wasn't the only one. I know of no one who repro's these so they would have to be rebuilt/salvaged at best. I tried to be gentle when I remoed mine. They had small spot welds that I seperated with a panel knife and hammer from Eastwood (if you don't have one, get one, its invaluable.) Other than that its sending away to a southwest salvage yard to parts.
