points conversion

will installing a points conversion show a noticable diffrence...i just ordered the ignitor II kit the other day and will install it this weekend but was wondering how much difference it would make

how much of a diffrence though, big? small? hardly noticable? also could that help with a little hesitation

My truck runs much smoother since I did the Pertronix point conversion. If the hesitation that your experiencing is due to a miss, I wouldn't be surprised if the conversion kit helped. At least on the truck, it was a relatively easy installation process. Just take the points out, pop in the pertronix pickup device, connect two wires, and you're ready to go.

Slick! Can i have a link to the one you have?? Preferably if summit has it? I see many different models and types, do they generally do the same thing the same way? Im looking into this also. So basicly, no setting point gaps, but timing is still done the same way? -Jon

i ordered mune from mustangs unlimited...any from what i understand its just a bolt in with no adjustments...hopefully

Mine bolted into my '65 with no problems. It is an improvement over points...over time. And, it is very quick to install.

Correct, you still have to set the timing, but no more setting the point gap (dwell angle). That looks like the conversion kit, though I didn't check to see if that was the correct one for your car. You need to get the one specifically for your car for it to work, as different cars have different gap settings, and single versus dual points.
