VIN stamping on block??
Hi all,
I am very new to the Mustang scene and had a quick question. Did ford put a partial VIN stamping on the engine block somewhere that proved that a certian block belonged to a certain car? I know on my Camaros there was a partial vin stamped on the deck of the block so you would know which car it belonged to. The car in question is a 66 Mustang GT.
Thanks in advance,
Nick

No, but you can tell by the block casting number what block it is. Again, there were no matching numbers on the 64-66 Mustangs. That engine you have may or may not have come with that car, and you will never know ; especially if the engine in your car is year specific such as a 289 or an I6 200. Your vehicle identification number does not give you this specific information.
