prices will vary. A lot depends on if they are open or closed chamber heads. The closed chamber heads are more desirealble. If they are fresh closed chamber heads they will probably bring $700+

70 is most likely closed chamber unless they were swapped at some point. Can you post a pic of the chamber side of the heads? That way we will know what they are.

As the other said it makes a big difference whether they are open or closed chamber. I have a set of open chamber 4v heads for sale, they are bare and I was asking $275 plus shipping. I have seen them on ebay anywhere from $200 to $2500, bare to ready to run.

Hope that helps.

Hi All,
Sorry I didnt get back sooner we had company and I had to entertain them. Anyhow the heads are closed chamber. The came off of a freinds 70 Cougar XR-7 back in the mid 80's. My freind was selling his car so we swaped him a set of 2V heads and some cash for them. My younger sister had had her 68 Fastback Mustang since '83 and we were going to use swap the 289 for a Cleavland and use them on her car. Well.... we never did and ended up putting a Windsor in it instead.

My freind Paul that had the Cougar had the cleavland freshened up a year of 2 earlier so I know the heads didnt have many miles on them when removed. They just have been sitting for years. I started to use them on a 55 Ford F100 I was building in mid 90's and I took them to a machine shop to have them checked and the guy told me they were in great shape. He said he just relaped the valves and cleaned them up. I had them all bagged up to keep them clean. In , if I remember right 2000 I took them to a swap meet and removed the bags so people could see them but had no luck selling them and then it started to rain. Before we could get everything picked up they got wet. I would recomend having them checked before bolting them back on as since then they have been in the garage with out baggs ang are fairly dusty.

I have allways mostly been a Chevy guy as growing up My mom and I allways drove 67-69 Camaros and my Dad and Sister were the Mustang people. I have since inherited my dads 66 GT and alot of his old Ford parts. Honestly I dont see using these heads in the near future as I have been moving these thing around for 20 + years and havent used them yet. I would really like to have them gone. I know they are fairly rare and dont want to just give them away but dont want to try to shaft anyone either.

Thanks again for any help,
Nick
