hey guys, i had question and wondering if you ppl knew anythig about it...i know a guy who will sell me 351 heads in real good shape, new valves etc..i was wondering how well these works on a 302 block...i would do 351 heads, gt-40 intake, stock cam, 1.7 rockers..sound ok for a combo??

 

you need a cam to get the full effect from heads

 

u can still make nice power w/ a stock cam and 1.7 rockers

 

What year casting are the heads?

 

im not sure what they casting #'s are...if they are the windsor heads would they be worth picking up?....i hear the cleveland's arent a direct bolt-on

 

dont even consider clevelands. those heads can be worth something depending on the year. also hopefuly they are ported. you can get gains from the stock cam if you advance it or retard it depending on what your looking for...top end or low end

 

supposedly they are unported but w/ new valves, etc..

what kinda gains would i get w/ a set of 351w heads?

 

ur not lookin at much power gain, if any. but if u get em and port/polish em you can get a good amount of power, not to mention puttin a new head gasket in there
