2. Compress the front coil spring on one side either till the spring can be removed, or its out of the way in the top of the shock tower.

I sure hope you have a good life insurance policy if you follow this advice. ALWAYS use a center pull spring compressor, and take the spring completely out.

thanks...also brilliant! Its appears an easier job that I thought it would be.

One reason for doing this was to assist with front wheels rubbing on the fender (15x7 TTd's with 225/60/15s.) See "front springs on a 66" thread by Sixtysix.

Does it make a noticable difference to the handling?

I already have adjustable strut rods and roller spring perches. I also have a new 16:1 steering box (manual) and roller idler arm and Cobra automotive quicksteer kit (which I think is just a shorter pittman arm for better response)

1. Do I still need to move it 1/8" back as well as down?
2. Is any bracing of the shock tower needed?
3. is the lower ride height going to be noticable in terms of making it look like its bum is up in the air?? Will I need to reset rear spring heights?

thanks for the help...this is good s$%t!!

if ur gonna go with some drop springs just cut the springs with a recp saw in a few places and then remove the shock and the spring will fall out in pieces and the drop springs will go back in without a spring compressor
