Ennis is a relatively small town. The price is for a pretty nice Grande though. Not a real hot ticket item. As far as Lake Superior, I would like to get up to the North country again some day and fish. I lived in Alaska for a few years and got totally spoiled fishing up there. Arctic Char, Grayling, DollyVarden, Salmom......What is that big fish in the Great Lakes with big teeth? I need to hook one of those suckers.

I just got a 71 with a 302 in it. 3 weeks ago i saw a 1966 on ebay and i went to look at it. His brother had a 1971 fastback with a built 302( 3k miles) so... I liked the 71 a lot better than the 66, so i ended up gettin that. So basicly i found it by pure luck and keepin my eyes open. I ended up getting the 71 for 5800$. It was REALLY clean inside and outside is new paint. good tires, rebuilt engine, and SOME rust under the hood( battery box etc.) and Trunk floor, but im replacing those now. Do you think this was an average price?? the car was in driving condition and i drove it 60 miles home and the only reason to remove the engine( as its on a stand now) was to replace a rear main seal and build it more. I couldnt find any guides to go off of to tell me if i was getting a deal or getting ripped off. Either way, i love it and even more $ and parts are going into it! -Jon

If you like it, don't look back, and don't worry if you got ripped off or not. It's yours now.

most muscle type car made in the early 70s are becoming rare. i know were alot of drivable 71-73 coupes and fastback are. i got my eyes set on a pair of 73 mach ones. there both complete and in pretty good shape. but i think its going to be one of them buy them both or none deals.

Well that is a nice clean Grande, and if is truly as rust free as he says it is.. its worth it. It is a decent color and doesnt have all the luxury stuff tacked all over the outside. If I had the extra cash right now I would buy it and drop a 429/460 in it.

Sturgeon is that big fish with huge teeth that gets big enough to eat you.. they are mostly in the rivers up here and some of the smaller lakes. The nice thing about fishing here compared to Alaska is it is still remote, but not that freakin remote. You dont need a Beaver and two guides to gete out and do something.. Glen the father in law owns a resort and runs charter boats all summer, best time to come is early to mid June since nobody is up here yet.. They think its still too cold. You can check out the projects and we can get some big ole honkin fish.. Biggest one this year was a 36lb lake trout caught by a 16 yr old, the misus hualed in a 14lber and she is only 125lbs dripping wet in her snow gear... she was workin that mornin.. think about it. its great up here..

Too bad they took the vinyl top off. They really set the Grande's apart and look good if you pay attention to color combos.

I know of a couple '71-'73 Sportsroof's in the Nebraska area. I haven't decided which one (or both) I'm going to buy for a future project.

Is it just me, or are 71-73 mustangs becoming rare?
Boy your not kidding, try finding seat rails for a 71-73 mustang....
There are alot of big parts availible but not to many small parts..

I just purchased a 72 "Q" code convertible 95% restored paid 17k for it.. Im the 3rd owner the odo reads 153k. doesnt burn oil & no eng noise...
Specs:
factory ram air, factory 351CJ w/manual 4spd & hurst shifter, deluxe int. front air dam, pw windows, power top & rear mach1 spoiler.

Im torn though, I ordered the stripe kit and I see alot of convertibles at car shows with the mach1 or boss decals on them.. I just dont want mine to look fake.. (wanna be) cant find pics of a 72 "Q" code....

The car hauls *ss

I looked in the auto trader and found several 71-73's at different price ranges.
Mine is between a 2 & 3 on the collectors scale (can be used as a daily driver) not a trailer honey a #1.

I paid $4000 for my 72 Grande a few years ago. It was a decent project car but was complete and road worthy. Paint is good from about 10 feet with a nice shine. and interior had been redone and some minor engine mods. Oh it is a 351C-2v with FMX, 9" rear, 14 inch Magnum 500s.

Place to look on-line is WWW.collectorcartraderonline.COM thats where I found mine.

I have also noticed that aftermarket is growing for these cars, but Ebay is still a good source as well.
