Default My Pulleys wont line up!!!!!!

I'm getting ready to fire up the new 351W (stroked to 408) but when I went to install my alternator I noticed that the pulleys aren't lining up!!! What do I need to do? These are the old pulleys off my 289 going onto the 351 water pump... are the 351 pulleys different??

They are different indeed.
I read the replies to your other post and just shook my head. Don't believe everything you hear.

What water pump are you using? Is the lower hose on the left? Or right?

I'd use later 302 or 351 pullies and brackets.

The input for the water flow is on the lower right if I'm not mistaken... Do I just need to look for a different pulley or what??? And thanks for the help!

tack 4 grade 8 washers to the back of the pulley

Either that or get the long nose water pump which should move your WP pulley out one full groove....or so I have heard.

Did you change balancers?

Your going to have to fabricate a spacer for sure. Washers will work on the other hand.

I just built a 347 stroker for my car and I replaced the harmonic balancer with one from Performance Products, it required me to install a spacer. Performance Products makes the spacers. Hope this helps.

Its an entire motor swap from 289 to stroked 351W. The pump itself as well as the balancer are off a 351, but the fan and pulleys are scavenged off my old 289...

You have the wrong water pump and radiator.
You have come too far along to start rigging the wrong parts together now. Slow down and do it right. This is not a 289 no more.
Use 351 components and get the radiator rebuilt to match the L/H hose water pump.
