I am going to be selling this car for a friend so I do appreciate all quick replies. I'll have to find out more information about the engine. Also is ebay a decent place to sell a car like this? Thanks again for putting up with my lack of knowledge.

What part of FL are you in. If it's not too far away, I could possibly swing by and take a look.

careful with ebay, its getting more and more unstable by the day. And if you don't already have an ebay account with a good (+) feedback score built up, then I don't think anyone will buy a car from you due to the "noob" status that ebay puts next to new user names.

As far as value is concerned, that is a really nice mustang, even though its not completely stock. I would say at least 8k, max 10k.

Good Luck with the sale.

its a good looking old car, is it from florida or just in florida? any white or light yellow car can take good pictures. what you need to look for is rust, bondo ect. if the sheet metal is orig. and rust or near rust free id say 8 to 10k would be a ballpark price. if theres alot of rust, repairs, bondo ect. 3 to 6k would be more like it.

ORIGINAL: gartersnake

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but if the engine hasn't been repainted, that is not the original engine. The block was black w/gold valve covers, etc. I have a '65 fastback 95% restored and I did a lot of research on it. A good place to get a ballpark idea of price is: NADA.com then go to price guides. Hope this helps.
Actually the 260 had blue instead of the later 289 C and A codes that came out after August 1st of 1964 with black and gold. So, the color is correct. That is a really nice all original early model Mustang that will be in the 8-10 grand price range I would think.

You can also get an idea of value from the Gold Book (in addition to NADA) and by searching online for other similar Mustangs for sale. Personally, I would rather sell locally than through ebay. I also recommend getting in touch with the local Mustang club. If there are any Classic Mustang parts stores in your area, I would check to see if they have a bulletin board as well. A local classic Mustang parts supplier/mechanic has a bulletin board in his office with Mustangs wanted and for sale posted.

Yeah it is indeed the stock engine, its a 260 they were phasing out and has 10,000 miles. Thanks for all the advice, you guys have a good community here.

That 260 engine is considered rare because they stopped making them and replaced them with the 289. Go to www.californiaspecial.com and post this in the classifieds. There are alot of car collectors there that will give you an honest expert opinion and a good price. This looks like quite a gem and I would`nt part with it for less then $20,000. If it is an early, all original car with very low miles, it is worth alot more than what these guys are saying.

i dont think ebays the way to go...alot of the mustangs that sell on ebay sell for cheap...over here in LA id say you could get 10-12000 easy...you could try the autotrader, craigslist, or collectorcartraderonline.com...good luck!
