Default Power Steering Noise

I recently replaced the high pressure hose on the power steering pump (65 Mustang w/Eaton pump). Now I have a severe knock when I turn the steering wheel. Also, I am not sure if I am using the correct power steering fluid. My manual indicates an "F" type transmission fluid. While the dip stick indicates a type "A" fluid should be used.

Anyone have any experience here?

Thanks

check to see that the bottom of the hose isnt binding or rubbing up against the chassis, etc.

Any ATF should work in the pump. .

You may have air in the lines. To get it out, remove the p/s dipstick. With the engine running, slowly turn the steering wheel from lock to lock at least 4 times. . Then install the dipstick and recheck the fluid level, add as needed. Hope this helps.
