Removing Front 68 Seats

RE: Removing Front 68 Seats
Unfortunately, it takes a lot of tools to work on these old cars. Now would be a good time to put a set of Sears Craftsman deep sockets on your Christmas wish list. I have been collecting tools for 50 years, and I still have to buy one every now and then.

Yep. One of the tools I bought many years ago was a pencil looking magnet that hinges at the end with a long handle on it. I don't know how may times I have used that little tool to fish out nuts and bolts that I have dropped in places like that.

TIP: Get a toilet paper or paper towel cardboard tube and stick it up in the hole to prevent losing the nuts when they drop...been there, done that, cussed alot !!! much luck to ya...

I've got a 68 Mustang and didn't need deep well sockets for the nuts holding the front seats on, just a short extender from the ratchet to the socket.
Great idea Cogtx. Next time I need to take the seats out, I will try the toilet paper tube idea.

I'll need some for this task. Some bolts are longer than others. There are only two bolts holding each seat on so I'll have to get the seats off to add the other bolts.
