i was under my car the other day and i noticed a counter weight on my 289 like that cept that one is for a 460 but i dont think that those came on 289 did they

I've seen 'em on some 289's...but I can't say if it was original or not...

i thought only hipo's did that and i doubt i have a hipo block (it would be nice)

All the early ones are counter weighted, but most of the ones I've seen are built in to the ballancer and not separate like the picture. Maybe the 289's did have their weights separate from the damper.

Thats what I ment,thats how mine is its part of the dampener but its the rear most part of the dampener. Not seperate as shown above
