serpentine frees up power normaly one belt and has less chance of slipping or jumping off

Serpentine is better for higher rpms and looks better, IMO.

you need mroe than that. You need all the brackets that the alternator, power steering and AC bolt to. If you dont have AC, or power steering, then you need the right belt. You also need a water pump that is reverse rotation because of how the serpentine is set up. A new tensioner is a good idea as well. You dont want one of those going south on you.

late model 5.0s have the stuff you need, but if they dont have AC, they have an idler pulley there. They also have a spot for the air pump, it requires a longer belt, but can be bypassed. So if you dont have AC, you need an idler pulley too.

If you like the bling, then you can have the brackets polished, since they are aluminum. For simplicity, I stick with V belts rather than an off sized serpentine. But the serpentine has advantages too.
