noticed some rust coming up and this motor is only a year old. how should i takle it?

That is nothing, if it bothers you that much just paint it black. I wouldn't really call that rust that needs tackling.

 

no way to clean it? i would have to pull the motor and paint it? did the guy that built the motor use the wrong kind of paint?

you may be able to get a damp rag and rub it, but just get a small touch up can of heat paint n touch it up.

 

No need to take the motor out, just tape off everything good and spray that one area black. No biggie

 

All of us should have a can or bottle of a rust encapsulator on the shelf of our workshops or garages. I have a can of "RustAway" that I got from Ace hardware. Just put a dab of it on the end of a rag and wipe over that spot of surface rust. I wouldn't even painit it after that, because it will turn black. You sound as **** retentive as I am.
