Default Battery level indicator ..... sort of

Today I was told about a product that runs about $100, it's small, you place it next to your battery with "huge zip ties" and it monitors your battery levels when you're not running the car. Supposedly when it drops below 11 volts it halts something or other -- and he said it had a solenoid in it.

Ever hear of it?

No. The new batteries have a glass circle you look through, and if it is green inside that circle, you are good to go. But if it turns red, the battery needs a charge. I would just get that battery tender you mentioned and call it good.

I have an old battery, looks like an original -- has the 6 cells on top -- 2 which need to be watered with distilled water or gee, your battery runs down.

The guy telling me about this didn't know the name of it, and I'm getting the tender (makes more sense in the long run) but I still want to know what they call it
