I cant wait to rebuild my engine with new heads and cam. At least that way, my redline will be higher then 4400..... which sucks. Make sure you have valve springs that will hold the new lift.

This is a decent cam. Stay close to .500 lift and around 220 at 050. A 456 lift cam is for....uh....go karts? I wouldn't go less than 484 for any street 302. I had one and it was a great mild cam. But, I was having trouble running away from people in the 1/4 mile...in went a nice custom Comp Cams grind.

A mild cam like a Comp XE268 will give a moderate lope and a nice power increase. Just stay under 220 degrees duration at .050 lift and the cam will work great. Something in the range of 214-220 is what you are looking for.

I suggest a kit, no sense getting a new cam without the lifters, B seems like a good choice, but you should get the cam/lifter match set if possible. Something like this

Stay with a mild one. I went very aggressive on my 351C and it was really hard to get it to run on high test pump gas. It really prefers race gas or an octane boost, which is a pain.

Go for cam D. Build the engine with about 9.5:1 compression and you'll just need premium fuel. And you'll have a healthy idle and plenty of power. Drop the compression a little to run just about any gas you want. Your cam does help determine how much octane you need, but it's a very small part of that equation.

Cam A would be my second choice.

FYI, make sure you get Comp Cams lifters if you get a Comp Cams cam (same for any brand...match the brand of lifter/cam).

Don't know. What's your piston dish and deck clearance? With that, it's easy to estimate compression ratios for different head volumes (got a spreadsheet that does it for me).
