My Mustang manual says to unbolt one side of the Transmission Oil Pan and let as much drain out as possible, then just take the pan off. Probably best to change the filter at that time as well. And replace the gasket. Sounds pretty messy.

I would assume it's like the newer cars and you pour it into the dipstick tube (with the help of a funnel orcourse)

thats right. it is extremely messy unbolt the pan and let it drain. defintely change the filter once you have the pan down and then fill it through the dipstick. good luck. its fairly simple just messy!

That unfortunately I don't know much about. I'd see what the experts on here advise. I know that B&M makes a "high-performance" ATF called 'Trick Shift.'

ya the trick shift stuff is really nice however it sucks when u still have a stock c4 which requires 8 quarts (i think just off the top of my head) and at about $4 a quart it gets a bit pricy

If it's a C4, then use Type F tranny fluid.

Be very careful bolting that pan back on if you are using the cork gasket. If you don't tighten the bolts enough you get a drip and just a wee bit to much and you snap the gasket. Then you have tranny fluid all over the floor.
Trust me, I found out the hard way!!!!!!!!!!! (more than once)
