1967 Mustang Rear Wheel Size
Im currently restoring a 1967 mustang fastback and I was wondering: What is the largest size tire I can fit on the rear without moving the frame? I have cut out the inner wheel wells exposing the frame rails. I am hoping to fit 315 or even 335 if possible. Anyone happen to know? Thanks!
Here's Dodgestang's fitment chart. There is an 18X7 225 40 and an 18 X8 265 35 listed. Not sure if any of these guys have tubbed theirs though. http://www.dodgestang.com/mustang.htm
That is a great link I appreciate it, but its not quite what im looking for. Im looking to see how large of tires I can put on a 67-68 fastback with no leaf springs. With the inner wheel wells taken out, how large of tires can I put on it until I reach the frame?
As a suggestion, you might try contacting some of the race tire companies. They willl need to know if your car is mini-tubbed or fully tubbed, and are you using coil over. Sorry I can't help you.
sorry i cant help you, but since you asked such a complex question, you have to post pics of your car and give engine specs!
and sorry again if you have already done that, i havnt been around here the last couple of days

Dont have any pictures on hand at the moment. I was just hopeing I would run into someone who had experience trying to out-fit their 67 mustang with rediculously large tires... I was told I may have to cut and move the frame.. but we will see..

Yea thats a good idea. Its already fully tubbed w/ coil over. Its gona be one bad ride.. 650 horse.. Thats why I need some aggressive tires.

I'm confused. Is it tubbed or not?
You can put a 285 on it without a tub.
The only thing that will help you decide on a tire and rim if it is tubbed is this:
