Please explain different interior centre consoles...
In all the photos of classic mustangs ive been looking at ive noticed some are bare in the centre, others have a complete console with what looks like a mini garage door on it?
Can anyone explain to me how they varied over the years?

It was an option, called centre console if i remember correctly, on early mustangs the only difference is with or with A/C, no garage door on a/c cars. I have it but no great biggy to me it the car doesn't have it you miss a rear ashtray and rear interior lights and the garage space i just use it to put my ipod in and it doesn't have a back on mine so things can go missing like pens and batterys for ipod fm transmitters
The ones with the storage compartment in front of the shifter were called full consoles. Mine is not a full console because I have air conditioning and the condenser is in the way for it to have a full console. The center console was an option for any model of Mustang for 1965-66. Ford even put a center console in their 6 cylinder Sprint cars.
