Well from the look of it, either way will result in about the same time spent, and roughly the same outlay of cash. its one of those either way you go its not gonna be easy, and neither way is easier or better than the other one, unless you are talking a full rocker panel replacement.. that is entirely different and much more involved.

Have a similar dent in the Cougar, but its just one dent halfway down. I dont have a stud setup yet, so my way of fixing it will be to drill small holes behind it on the inside part of the rocker, push the dent out so I can fill it reasonably well, then weld the holes closed after I am done. That is my way of fixing a single dent, but you have a series of dents and that would be a harder way to do it. Alternately I could weld a nut to the rocker in the center of the dent and pull it like that, but that is kinda backyard and would require a unique touch, so dont consider it.. maybe I shouldnt mention it either... [:-]

I dont recomend drilling holes in the outside and using a puller either, that just messes things up.

it can be pulled witrh a stud welder, id go that route. dont use bondo filler its outdated for the same money get your self some evercoat z-grip, bondo also uses a red hardner most people dont like to use the red. the z-grip comes with a blue hardner. But for the rocker id pick up some all metal/ metal to metal etc.(its a alum based filler the closest thing to leading a surface without doing it) its waterproof and offer more corrision resistance. esp in an area thats prone to chips scratches etc.

I agree with Thumpin. I too have punched holes and pushed dents out. I was thinking of taking your fender off and punching a hole through the front. Take a torch with a rose bud, heat the rocker up and massage it out from inside the hole. Thats what I'd do.

Gotta be carefull with the heat, you dont want to anneal the rocker and make it weak. Consider it the framerail of your car with a cosmetic fairing...
