Default Looking for a Big block conversion kit.

I'm looking for a Big block conversion kit. I'm in the process of buying a 68 stang and it has a 289. At some point and time I would like to put my 429 in it. Does anyone know were I can get a conversion kit?
thanks

you might check with the guys at Holcomb Motorsports at 1-800-475-RACE. They carry kits for the newer Mustang swaps so they probably have a line on the older ones too.

Dude I think you gotta do some crazy shiz to fit a big block in that thing... like cuttin out the shock towers etc. I don't know of any conversion kits for those cars - other than Cleveland kits etc.

mdvaldosta, I disagree, but I;m just a newbie here. Wasn't the 67 built for the 390? and the 68 the 428? I talked to a local mustang shop owner, he said no problem. So now you got wondering again.
Thanks

Just keep the 289. Save you alot of money that you can spend on the motor. Big blocks are for the most part just showie. If you want to get job done, keep the 289. If you want to spin the tires and be showie, get the big block.

Crites Restoration has what you are looking for. They carry installation kits, headers, etc. Don't forget the suspension though. That big block will need some rear end work and some stickey tires to get the power down. Go 460 and have fun.
