Default Cowl Update

Pulled my passenger side fender on Wednesday. Finally got my colw cover off yesterday. DAMN!
I don't know where PO had this car, but for the duration it was in my back yard it was covered for the most part. If not to keep out the water at least to keep out leaves. The driver's side cowl was completely covered with tiny leaves and dirt. The hole you see throught the passenger's side cowl is the rusted out section of the floor pan. The drivere's side cowl is the worst.
WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since I have the cowl cover off I may weld a wire mesh under the openings to keep more stuff out. Has anyone else done this and if so, how did it work?

The driver's side cowl has a closable vent for fresh air. Doesn't the heater box attach to the passenger side cowl to either suck in fresh air or air from inside the car?

Just barely! Fortunately my top portion isn't as bad as yours was. I have a couple pieces I need to fabricate, but nothing with alot of curves. I'll tackle that this weekend and post pics of the progress.
