I've turned wrenches all my life and have worked in some less than desirable enviroments. I once managed a Golf Course from the first escavator load of dirt to full membership of people and full development of the housing divison from an Tractor trailor as my shop and a lean-to shed as my work space. They didn't build the maint. shop until the membership was complete and we could find a spot that was not bought for housing. I did end up with a very nice 3 bay shop with lifts, my own fuel / wash down island, however, for 5 years, I worked in dirt.
Folks usualy have the impression that Golf Course mechanics just work on golf carts and that is true, however, while I did handle over 100 carts, I also had 150 pieces of other equipment that handled the golf course. Some of the fairway units are well over 50k each and have to be set to cut grass as low as 1/16th" or lower. The equipment is very sophisticated.
In short, I'm done working in the dirt. I gotta have a slab of some sort and something to keep the sun off my bald *** head

I live in a brand new house but the garage looks like its 30 years old. There is grease everywhere. And between the two stangs and the '61 mercedes that i have there are so many parts i dont even know what to do with all of them. But stuff usually ends up working.(i dont know how)
Man I wish I had a garage. Our two car garage is filled with my dad's stuff (he's a contractor). So my mustang sits infront of the garage underneath this little car port setup thing. Gotta love the yard art!
My hats off to those to do not have a garage.Ihavea two car garage its fairly clean and my kids got me a large tool chest on wheels for Christmas. The only draw back is it is not insulted and no heat ,so it not very comfortable working out there in the winter(Ontario Canada). This winter has been mild the temp should be 20 F or colder ,later this week it forcasted for a high 50F.
That is a sweet looking Mustang and a nice garage. I have been tinkering with cars all my life (at least as long as I can remember). I have worked in many conditions from no Garage to having a whole barn. My biggest issue is my job often requires me to relocate. Finding a house and a location that will allow me to keep all my junk is difficult. My current house is nice and has a large garage but it isn't real good for working on cars. It's kinda like two one car garages. I have a big stone fireplace above the garage so there is a giant cindblock foundation right in the center of the garage. So I end up doing a lot of the work outside in the driveway. But at least it is concrete and not asphalt!
