Default Engine recommendations for 67 fastback

I'm looking for advice as to what engine to put in my 67 fastback. I recently removed a 302 and I'm contemplating a 351 or 390 or 427 or 428. I know the big blocks are going to be more of a installation problem, but how much more work is it to put in a 351as opposed to another302? IfI were to go with a 351, wouldI be better with the windsor or cleveland? Thanks

408 Windsor. You'll need new accessory brackets and headers...and hood clearance could be an issue.

If you have an FE laying around, build it. If you don't, stick with a Windsor.

Stroked 302 to a 331 or a stroked 351 Windsor - have you ever tried to change spark plugs on a big block while it is inside the engine compartment?? Not easy my friend. You have to remove the engine mount on one side and jack up that side of the engine to get to the middle plugs. Also how easy is it to find parts for the 390 or 428? Lots easier to find stuff for a 302 or 351 - JMHO
I'd stroke a 351 Windsor and call it good - way more torque and HP than your tires can get to the ground.

I like cars that are original so I would saydo some work onyour 302 and put it back in but if you really are looking for a change there is not muchcooler than a 428 big block fastback. If you plan on going with a351 the Windsor is the way to go.

There were three original V8 engines available in '67. The 289, 302 and 390. For a 67 fastback, I would slap a stroked 390 in there.

351W was available as an original engine for '67?

351w didnt come out to 69 i think theres really no need for a big block when you can get 427ci out of a small block

Windsey for making big power, being lighter, smaller, easier to install, and cheaper OR Clevey for making bigger power,

my thoughts.. and if someone has ever done this PLEASE send me info - a 351W / 408 with cleveland 4bbl heads (or boss 302 heads which are essentially the same)

i know the large 4bbl ports were overkill at any lower rpm for the 302's but i always felt that with 400+ ci of displacement those heads would ROCK on there.

has anyone ever seen this combo?
