How do I remove the windshield wipers? I mean the whole arm. I need them off before the windshield guys come at 12 today (3hrs from now).

 

If you pull the arms up there is a tab on the inner side near the post. Pull the tab straight out and at the same time wiggle the arm off.

 

Like Grimm said. Its best to have one person hold the end of the wiper while one person releases the tab that holds them down as it is easy to send one flying across the garage when doing both. I like to put something down underneath the tab against the paint first so not to chip it. Once you pry the little tab back with a screwdriver or whatever, rock the wiper arm back and forth while lifting up till it releases.

 

I would be concerned with windshield installers who do not know how to remove the wiper arms. Or are you just trying to be nice to them?

 

I thought i'd get them out of his way. I got the tabs removed. Were they supposed to come all of the way out? I still can't get the damn things off and I just put them on there last year. So they shouldn't be rusted or anything.

 

As I recall, the tabs should not come off, just bend back far enough to allow the wiper arm to slide up and off of the ****.

 

They shouldn't come out. I just pulled mine last month to get the windshield off. After pulling them the wiper should come of by wiggling it back and forth.

ooopsie. all i remember is when I took mine off, one flew accrossed my driveway. those suckers are really spring loaded or something lol. I had to use a screwdriver to pry the wipers off once the tab was removed. Hopefully u got them all off easily though.
