today and tomorrow
Today:
So today was a rather good day in the garage. Started with some radiator hoses and then decided I hate the original concourse clamps and I'm just gonna use the ones you can buy at home Depot for sprinklers. Got virtually all the important wiring done to actually start/run the car. No lights, horn or guages yet, but the engine is wired up. I've discovered that my old A/C evaporator was totally pwned by the elements. It didnt quite rust...but instead, all the leaves and junk that had gotten into it have slowly began to eat it...ya...i dont really know how to say it. Anyway, my brother came out and helped me get the tranny fluid in, ended up spilling all over him and then puddled to the floor. It looked like he got shot, it was pretty funny. So i threw a towel down and cleaned that up. Oh, and of course, I got my driveshaft back cut to the correct length this time. Basically the engine is ready to run except for the antifreeze(waiting to put in heater first) and the alt belt(which I simply forgot to get last time I went to the auto store).
Tomorrow:
Me and my mom are going to Ocala to NPD. Gonna get a new A/C compressor and A/C whatnot including that evaporator, all the rubber hole plugs and rubber bumpers, and a few other things which I've started to make my list of now.
P.S. I just found out my battery is dead...i always thought that it wouldnt die if i left it on the shelf but somehow its dead....and also the starter I have doesnt fit the bellhousing so I have to take the grinder to it later tomorrow and make it fit...long day ahead, but hopefully i'll get a running car out of it.

Just an FYI -
Batterys are an electro-chemical reaction which starts as soon as the battery is built. The plates become sulphated , by
charging the battery your knocking the sulphate off the plates and back into the acid. So batteries need the Discharge/Charge cycle to take place otherwise the plates become sulphated and the chemical reaction cant take place any more.

yea your starter should fit just fine dude....unless you got some aftermarket hiperformance or or w/e then I don't know. but if it a stock starter for your year and your engine, take it back and get the correct one.
DO NOT take a grinder to your starter. If you have a standard transmission, and you have a starter for a standard transmission car, then that is your problem. Take it back and get a starter for an automatic transmission car. Trust me on this......been there, done that. And, I know it sounds perposterous, but it's the truth.
sorry, should be more clear, lol. the starter I have is for a manual, like my T5, but the bellhousing is an aftermarket one. The starter doesnt quite fit in the hole so I wsa acutally going to put the grinding bit on my dremel and just carefully widen the opening on the tranny.
