Mustangs Gettin Some Audio
I'm dropping the Mach 1 off at Al&Eds on friday morning. Shes gettin over $2,200 of audio and labor put into her.
Pioneer Deck
Alpine 4 Channel Amp
3 Way Eclipse Speakers into kick panels
4 Way Eclipse 6X9's in the rear
Rockford Fosgate Amp
2 JL 10" Subs
Custom box to slide up against rear seats.
And of course dynomat to shut her up.
I'm planning on my B-day (couple weeks) to get another amp and 2 more 10" JL's in the trunk.
Now i know many of you are dumbfounded in why i'd put this much money into a system, in such an old car. Well if it helps to get the point across the car has no Heater, No power steering, broken driver window crank, bad weather stripping lol all this other **** and its my daily driver. But before i'd get any of that fixed, audio is my priority. I can live with putting on an extra jacket, or busting my knucles on the steering wheel, but not without music.
Lol, Flame/Comment/Suggest

I guess you got the college funding you mentioned in a previous post figured out, huh?
I say whatever makes you tick, go for it. I had a friend who was a real audio aficionado think I was crazy for putting a subwoofer and speakers in my Jeep TJ. He declared the vehicle the worst possible platform for an audio system, but it was the only wayI could get it loud enough to hear sports and talk radio on the freeway.
Have fun!

Nah i havent got that funding for career. If this purchase drastically impacted that fund, then i'd just work a couple extra months to get the money back. But like i said above, it doesnt matter, i bought the car knowing that the purchase price was gonna include this lol. But yeah switching from the Celica (amazing sound) to the Mustang (cassette player and no speakers) was pretty harsh.
lol thank you, i miss the celica though
All those corners i could take at 45mph with confidence, Revving up to 8,350rpms with a 6 SPEED!!! And a 2,500 pound space ship looking slot car. But now i got American Asphault Digging Muscle, something that gets nothing but thumbs up. I wish i could find a car that comprimises those, DeLorean maybe? lol.

You can do much, much better for that price.
Pioneer decks are OK for looks, but the SQ really isn't that great. I'd get an alpine or eclipse.
For speakers, I personally do not run rear full range speakers in any car I own or will own. It destroys the sound stage. Spend the money from the 6x9's on a good component set (2 way) and buy a 2 channel amp to power your mids and highs (i.e. the component set)
Subs: I personally think JL's sound good, but are extremely overpriced. You could build a much nicer setup with elemental designs, Incrimiator audio, or ascent audio.
For amps, rockford is pretty solid, but I would stick with the same brand for look purposes. Alpine amps are ok, but I have used much better.
BTW: my dd has eclipse source unit and sub, CDT comps, and diamond audio amps.
In my mustang I will more then likely run an alpine source unit with everything else being elemental designs. My sub setup will consist of 6.5's or 8's mounted ina custompackage tray.
I don't know how much experience you have in car audio, but don't take a shops advice without really listening before you buy. Shop around and decide what you really like.

I've had a pioneer deck in the celica and loved it. This new one has alot more control which will work perfect for putting the sound and frequencies where i want them. I've had the JL's and get them for a very decent price. I love thier sound and like u said the rockford amp hits em solidly for me. The deck alone is 220 retail, whereas i'm getting it for $180. I chose the 3 and 4 way main speakers because i've heard the subs hitting before, and i'd love to have crisp high focused mids and highs to match it. And the alpine amp will do its job without worries. The custom box is the only thing i know is killing me on the price, $350, along with the dynomatting. But overall this seems to be a perfect setup for wat i want to hear. Of course theres stuff that would make it a killer system, but this seems alrite and still spoils me.
PS. The Al and Eds i'm going to, the manager (travis) works on the Overhaulin Cars Audio systems. So i feel comfortable with them working on my baby.

Speaking of Celicas, I like your new sig much better than the last one.
