rocker arms

so i am putting my motor together and the book says to rotate my pushrods while tightening the rockers but whily doing that i noticed that on my lifters(hydrolic) that after i was done that the seat or where the pushrod goes is diff on all of them some are right at the top while the others are all the way at the bottom and i don't remember if this is right

nvm i looked at them when the cam lobe was up on some of them DUH

umm yeah make sure the cam lobe is down before you tighten each one down LOL - if you are unsure of what your doing have someone who knows come over and check over your work - you dont want it to tickity tick tick when you start 'er up

no i did them when they were down just when i looked it over after i was done i was like wtf

forgot to do that. what would happen if you didnt do that?

The Ford shop manual has the procedure detailed. Tells you how far to rotate the crank and what arms to do at each location.

We've also got a lot of posts on here about how to adjust your arms.

Atoms...You didn't switch to adjustables on your Cleveland, did you? If you didn't, don't worry about it, but you could torque the arms with the engine idling if you're really worried.

i was worried at first but no, i didnt switch to adjustables, but i did torque down all the rockers ayway, i scared myself a little[]
