Default disc brakes... how much???

Hey how much more stopping power will a front disc swap provide me with? I just found out that Im going to school in California in February and I think I'm going to need some more brakes for the added traffic. Also, how much is it going to cost from start to finish?

+1 as to the cost the others mentioned.

As far as stopping power - the biggest advantage to disc brakes in front are 1) less weight. 2) less chance of heat glazing. 3) much better in wet conditions.

I still have drum brakes on my 66'. I've yet to glaze them over, however, I am very aware of my surroundings when I drive my car. I'm alot less tentative when I'm in my F250 4x4 and I usualy put those brakes in a much harder working enviroment.

And where are you guys finding these for $600??? The cheapest I've found is $672 from Summit Racing, and it looks like kind of a cheapie kit from Wilwood.

Go to Discbrakeswap.com (CSRP is the Company), and they have a Grenada brake kit for under $600. Soaring has said a couple of times recently that you can get a discount on top of that if you mention that you're a member of this website. I still have drum brakes, but a few others on this site have used this kit with no complaints so far.

Try these....http://www.discbrakeswap.com/

Nothing wrong with hicksville. Besides..what's wrong with Texas A&M Commerce just down the road? Too close?

I graduated from there in 1982.

no but seriously drums actually offer more stopping power till they get hot or wet but the above link is probably about th ebest buy for what your looking for and it will makes the car more suited for panic stiops and stop and go traffic
