just to give you guys some hope for the future generation i thought i should let you know that im 16 and i saved and paid for my 65 mustang and am working for one of our mechanic friends to earn money for parts. my friends appreciate my car and none of them have ever called a pice of crap even tho it needs a lot of cosmetic work and i really could care less about what others think about it because it makes me happy and i know my car has 10x the charachter and is way more kickass than theirs

No Mustang is ugly unless its been riced up. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, not everyone likes mustangs and it has nothing to do with how rich the kids are, poor kids dont have better taste in cars.

If they dont like it thats fine, whats important is you like it ofcourse its nice to be complimented but one has to accept that others wont like it.

Its obvious to us that the classic mustang is one of the coolest cars out there, but some just dont get it...

Modena is a Ferrari 360 (not their best work, I like the 355), triptonic is a formula one inspired gear shift system that has paddles behind the wheel.
Maserati quatraporte is a stunning machine as are all the aston martins. These cars arent in competition with the mustang, you cant say one is better than the other they are all fine cars and have different appeals.

Having said that, Im no liberal. Ill argue to the death with people to correct their warped and incorrect views (just dont let it get to you), I consider myself quite the authority on the design of cars, drawing them since the day I was born and possibly going to study car design in Italy.
360 was their cheapest car at the time, but, only in relation to the good ferraris was it cheap. as for aston martins, i can somewhat respect them, because the 6.0 liter v12 in them is a modular engine related totally to the 4.6 ford v8 in the mustang, explorer and so on. the stroke may be shortened, much different cylinder heads and so on. it's not really a british designed car anymore. one car i love is the swedish koenigsegg, which would make more sense spelt like kønigsegg because of the e but w/eva, it has a slightly bored ford 4.6 block bored to 4.7 and twin superchargers, the ccx is one of the fastest cars in the world, i think it's only second to the bugatti.

sweet, i did the same thing with my 65 which i ended up selling, now i have a 66. my dad is in the racing business, so you'd think i just have it, but i worked my *** off cleaning planes in virginia by my moms house at the local airport for a few summers, saved up and gave my dad the money to get it off his friend in california. im 16 also, but some of my friends look at it, and they won't directly say something about it, but you can see the doubt in their eyes about what it's going to be. and i hate to say this, all of the friends, it's directly related to how rich they are. my neighbor that owns 3 funeral homes is the one that can't really see through the bad paint and stripped interior, and my friend aiveras from lithuania who is not the most wealthy is obsessed with the car and excited as hell. before someone shoots down my observation, i'm talking like 60 different people, quite a large sample rate. its realated also to where you live, my area is just a bunch of oddball liberals that will tell you your problems and never give you a solution, that's why im with the GOP!!

Dont get too excited about those kids. When I was stationed in Charleston SC, a couple kids I worked with thought one of thier Civic Si was incredible fast. They mentioned that it would beat my car so bad. Since he had 18" rims, it was lowered and he had a cold air pipe on it with a fart can. My daily driver then was the 70 GTO with a 455 that made enough torque to push that 4100lb car through the traps in 13.51 @105mph with highway friendly 2.93 gears. (3.42 gears and it runs 12.70s) It was painted flat black with rattle cans at the time, so it was ugly as ever, had a few rust spots and the interior was torn up and had a carpet from an old Delta 88. I only had to get on it once (just in first gear and let off two lengths ahead of him)with his little civic next to me off base and all of a sudden the talk about my car being slow just stopped.. at least from him. Another kid with a Neon thought he had enough..but didnt.

People who dont know about cars or performance will think something is fast because it might look fast, someone might say its fast, or it is faster than what they have so its gotta be faster than what you have. When a guy has a bunch of old cars tht he drives around, does all the work on them, and they look like crap and idle funny with a sorta hard starting tendency, you dont really want to talk a bunch of crap about how fast your Neon is. he daily driver will probably suck the headlights out of your little ricer pos.. Kids gotta learn that the hard way sometimes.
