Converting to 4 barrel
First off i'd like to thank everyone who viewed this post as it is my first one on this forum.
I've done a search for the following question but surprisingly couldn't find any information...so, I appologize
if this has been answered previously.
I have a 1968 mustang coupe which i just aquired which has the factory 289 2barrel in it.
One of the first mod's I'd like to do is convert it to a 4 barrel.
I'm wondering if anyone out there has any advice as to what to look for in products (carb and manifold)
which will allow me for a painless conversion.
I'm aware i'll have to change the kick down rod which shouldn't be a problem. Short of that what other
problems can I expect?
As far as carbs go i'll assume that the Holley 600cfm is a good start?
Many thanks to those who took the time to read and respond.
Cheers!

yeah I'd say that'd a good choice for the first one. I'd recommend switching to a stickshift but that's another story. as far as manifolds go, there are a lot of good ones, usually if your just going for a run of the mill fixup i'd say get a good edelbrock or wilson manifold. shouldn't do you wrong.
nah go for a weiand for a the 289/302 family and a autolite carb(will run the best) or a holley carb with the linkage kit like u stated above check with www.jegs.com www.summitracing.com etc i try and order from jegs now to eliminate the tax since they have a store in atlanta now
i wish it was in SC,or Fla

ya i would say an air gap from edlebrock (or torker 2 if u wanna get crazy) or a weiand stealth. both are good brands (weiand is a holly product). then u can pick up an Motocraft 6600 carb, edlebrock thunder series, or holly street avenger.
