need help steering

Im trying to install the new steering components for my 65 mustang. im upgrading from the i6 to V8.

my question is where the idler arm connects to the centerlink is there suppost to be a bolt that i was somehow suppost to know to order?

Forgive me but, from the photo you took, it looks like you are trying to hook the wrong end of the idle arm to the center link, the ball&socket end of the idler arm should hook to the center link, and the end with the hole should slide onto a shaft that is mounted to the inside of your pass side frame rail, let me know if that helps you.

could someone take a picture of the way thier idler arm is hookd up? i dont have a bolt that slides into the hole of the idler arm. perhaps the piece that mounts onto the passenger side of the frame rail is different on an i6 to a v8

yup thats the problem the idler arm suports are different...

This is a V8 Roller Idler arm from Opentracker Racing. Same as a regular but it uses roller bearings instead of bushing.

Oh yeah, forgot to tell you.. when swapping to a V8 steering, you have to get the idler arm assembly.

n/m i can see the stamp on the headers that they are hedman.

The factory style doesn't have that grease fitting on the left do they?
