Default intake swap pics

I have read page after page of people swapping their 2bbl for a 4bbl but not a lot of pics. I am too visual a person to do this without some pics to go by, Are there any websites with a good how to with pictures for distributer and intake removal/installation

i just got finished rebuilding the suspension and steering components so while I am feeling all mechanically inclined i thought i would tackle this project as well.

if your just swapping the intake manifold, then dont remove the distributor, its a PITA to get back in, and if you do get it in, it might be off, and you DO NOT want that

Sometimes you can swap the intake in a small Windsor without removing the dizzy, but reinstallation can be problematic.

awesome thanks
that page is perfect
so its basically
everything off
clean
rtv on head side of gasket and head
gasket to head
4 alignment bolts
rtv on intake side of gasket
rtv on front and back of valley
rtv on intake
(a lot of rtv is used in this job)
intake over alignment studs

that looks a lot easier than it sounds

as far as the distributer
i think it would be an easier job to do if it is removed and the shop manual says as long as you dont bump the starter or turn the crank just scribe the engine where the rotor is pointing and then line back up

does that actually work?

The secret is cleanliness. When you get the old intake off, make sure every mating surface is absolutely spotless and clean. Wiping down the surfaces with cleaner is what will make the RTV adhere correctly.

dont fret its simple. if your gonna yank the distributor make sure you have a timing light handy to set it once its reinstalled. that being said if you carefully scribe your marks (from the center of where the rotor is pointing to the distributor housing itself, and from there to the motor itself) you should be within a degree or two when you put it back together.
