We put in an aluminum radiator in today, and went for a ride, NOTICABLE difference in the temperature, and today was one of the warmer days in the season, before, with no oil cooler and a black steel radiator, 180-200* F, went up to 200ish when it was wound up (punched it =D) and took a while to get back down, but with Aluminum radiator and oil cooler it stopped at 165 and stayed there, all the time, even when we gunned it, and almost lost it, going on the freeway. the reason we did it, is because we didnt want the heat to go up too high during summer, BTW, and we have a 160* thermostat.
I was informed that the perfect operating temperature of an engine should be about 190 F
With my copper brass radiator my temp is between 190 and 195 i have a 190 thermostat
