Default 289 cid 1966

can someone explain to me what the diffferences are between the 289 cid V8 between the 2V (200hp) and 4V (225hp) and Hi-Po 4V (271hp)
don't mean the hp but parts spec that goes in/on the engine
would it make difference when putting on a 289 2V a high performance alu intake manifold and headers ?

thank you

arthur

Default RE: 289 cid 1966

The 2v and 4v are about the carbs 2v having 2 venturi's and 4v having 4 this means that the intake for a 2v and 4v are different. The hi-po has different internals (there is a list in the FAQ's). The headers for 2v-4v are the same hipo had differentexhaust manifoldsthan stock to let the engine 'breath' better however aftermarket header will be the same no matter which 289 just make sure you get the correct ones i.e. manual vs auto
