Wouldnt it be a 65 because it has vents instead the rear quarter windows? Or was that just with the shelby's?

Can't tell from your numbers. The first number of the VIN should be the year. Your first digit is a 3. There are no 63 Mustangs. Looks like a 2V 289 though.

I think it is a 289.. I couldnt tell much at the time but I know it has a V8, and I think its the original.. As for the date, check this out.. I went here:
http://www.ponysite.de/news_1.htm
and found the date code of 03J on an "early 66"..

True dat! That means the first digit of the VIN should be 6R09C134248 not 3R09C134248. But I'm pretty sure you are right. It is a 66

Yeah, it's a C code 289, but the rest of the numbers don't make sense. If you try to decode with those numbers you get a 73, and we know damn good and well it's not a 73.

Both the 65 and 66 had that C-pillar vent design. The taillights are from a GM car... Looks like a chevy. Bumper???

The body code of 63 doesn't necessarily mean its a 63. Body codes werent all year based.
