I have a 65 ford coupe, it has a 289(over 400hp)that has been bored .40. I have eldelbrock performer RPM series package(heads, cam, intake) and a 750 holley double pumper. Roller rockers, new MSDelectronic distributor, long tube headersand much more, the peopleat eldelbrocktold me that the cam and lifters were fine for over 6,500 RPMs. Everytime I get to 6,000 the engine starts to float out on me. Do I need to go to a solidcam andlifters? I thought if was a fuel problem at first but im sure it is not that now. Imput would be nice thanks.

What do you mean float out on you. I have been working in the automotive field for over 15 years the last ten for ford. I have never heard of that term. Give a better discription of your concern and I might have a good answer for you.

The RPMS start to rise really fast when I get abouve 6000. Like the car went into nuetral. My transmission is fine just had it redone. I think my lifters or valves were starting to float( or whateverword you would like to use) out on me. </P>
