Air Conditioner/289 heads Help on both.
I just bought an original ac unit, compressor, and condensor( all for 230.00 . The guy told me that thecompressor and unit are both from a 65. How do I determine if the compressor is in fact what he says?
He also has a set of 289 heads casted with 289 and 66 along the inside near. Are these of any value?

I have have a 66 with ac and ill try to post a pic cuz they should be the same. and the heads arent worth anything unless someones an all stock rebuild.everyone wants aluminum now.
i think im the only one on the planet who prefers stock casting heads. to me theres more fun in building as much power as you can from something stock than just bolting on HP.

The heads are good for boat anchors. Here is a pic of my original compressor. I believe York is the brand. It sucks.

Yep, a fully modified 289 with aluminum heads will go faster, but one that has stock heads and not hot-rodded goes faster to the bank. And yes, the original York compressor sux, but like before, goes faster to the bank when sold. Just my opinion from seeing what gets the big bucks and what is worth so-so dollars at car shows. Flame suit now on.
