Default Ghetto Fixing Help...

okay so as some of you might know, somehow my drain plug on my new air compressor broke and the little tiwsting piece is gone....i pulled out the whole plug with a socket and am ordering a new plug......annoying...but necessary. in the meantime (before next week) would it be possible for me to just weld the little hole shut and simply pull out the whole plug to drain? i would bleed off the air pressure with the bleeder thing at the top of the compressor but this is just ot let out moisture each day. im not doing anything and its really lame because im so motived to work on the car now and i have no much time before that new plug will come.

i drew an arrow to the place i want to weld shut. i figure just a few zaps with the new mig welder and it would be filled...? temporary fix so i can at least use my compressor?

its not on the tank......its right on my desk like in the picture........that plug just screws into the tank....it would be completely seperate from the tank.....after welding the hole shut, i would screw it back into the tank....does that make sense sorta?

can you show me what you mean by lever??? ive gone to NAPA and asked them and they didnt even know what i was talking about....then my mom was at OSH talking to a guy and to me on the phone and they didnt see anything that would of worked out....any help would be good....

The part you broke is just an ordinary radiator drain ****. Any decent autoparts store like NAPA should have it in stock. Sears will kill you with the shipping.

yeah i know...it was gonna be like $7-$8 just to ship it to my house......but yeah....basically instead of the drain **** hole...the hold is just filled in with metal now....and it worked fine all last night. so i guess im in not that much of a hurry so i wanna find out how the hell to make one of these threaded pipe drain valve things...
